Targray Technology International Launches ToughSIL Classic Solar Module Lamination Diaphragm

Targray Technology International has recently launched the ToughSIL Classic Solar Module Lamination Diaphragm and improved its portfolio of product offerings.

Taein Chemical Company, the manufacturer of the ToughSIL Classic Solar Module Lamination Diaphragm, has appointed Targray as its exclusive global distributor to market the product. The diaphragm offered in widths up to 3,030 mm is one among the broadest and seamless laminator membranes currently offered in the market. The advanced and patented manufacturing process of Taein offers the diaphragm up to 2,500 cycle counts repeatable in every batch of manufacturing.

According to Dan Murray, Targray’s Vice President, the diaphragm is an important constituent in the vacuum lamination procedure. It wields the same amount of pressure all through the solar lay-up, takes out the moisture  solvents and other substances from the curing composite layers thus allowing the even flow of encapsulant material throughout the solar module. The diaphragm especially formulated for the process improves the laminator uptime and reduces the operational costs.

According to Cheong Wei Chua, Targray’s Product Manager, the inclusion of lamination diaphragms adds value to the products offered by the company. He explained that the silicone-based material utilized in the diaphragm unlike Butyl-based products does not release Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that cause health hazards. The product provides good stability and elasticity, and high level temperature endurance in comparison with other EDPM diaphragms.
