G24 Innovations (G24i), a trailblazer of dye sensitized solar cell know-how, in partnership with Skyco Shading Systems, a Santa Anna, CA- based company have contracted an accord with a worldwide hotel chain to install energy efficient window shades to over 8,000 windows at the hotel.
The window shades installation is a part of a major renovation planned by the hotel. Skyco Shading will provide the architectural shade system needed for the installation of window shades.
The automated wireless shade system will be powered by Gen-3 indoor solar technology of G24i, a powerful technology used for converting the indoor lighting in electric power. The G24i’s DSSC Technology was identified by the engineering team as the only indoor power solar technology to generate enough electricity to power the wireless shade facility installed at the hotel.
The indoor power solution supplied by G24i will considerably improve the green credentials of the hotel while enabling the hotel to save around $3 million on the installation costs of wiring the windows for power. The technology will do away with the need of installing tens of miles of hard physical wire in addition to saving on the investments to complete such a wiring process.
G24i’s indoor power solution will substantially add to the hotel’s green credentials, while saving $3 million on installation costs by eliminating the need for the tens of miles of hard wire, in addition to eliminating the impact to operation and lost revenue caused by the in-wiring process. On completion of the installation, the hotel will become the first hotel in the world to use a large scale indoor solar system to power a large mechanism by utilizing recycled light to generate electric power.
