Magnis aims to become a leading global producer of next-generation green credentialed Lithium-Ion Battery (LIB) cells, enabling the future energy requirements of the world, the global storage of renewable energy and electrification of transportation.
Leveraging off a world class graphite asset in Tanzania, associated production IP and a strategy partnership with US based Charge CCV, Magnis will manage an end to end supply chain, sourcing the raw materials and associated technologies for these cells.
Magnis has three core areas of focus which provide the Company with a strategic advantage; battery technologies, gigafactories and graphite.
Battery Technologies
Magnis has a strategic partnership and 10% interest in Charge CCCV LLC (“C4V”), a US-based intellectual property company with specialist expertise and patented discoveries in lithium-ion battery (LIB) composition and manufacture.
C4V Co-Founder, Dr Shailesh Upreti, has been awarded numerous patents for composition of matter inventions, and C4V is located within Binghamton University where Magnis Non-Executive Director and inventor of LIBs, Professor Stanley Whittingham, forms part of a leading centre of excellence for lithium-ion battery development. The partnership provides Magnis with access to the world class $100m+ development facilities, with capabilities for materials engineering, cell fabrication & cell testing.
Magnis and C4V are working together in co-developing intellectual properties and expertise to be applied to projects with the aim of driving shareholder value. C4V brings extensive experience and patented intellectual property in advanced lithium-ion materials, that have been recognised for resolving major constraints in battery performance. C4V is an equity holder in various manufacturing projects with Magnis and plays an important role in the Company’s business development within the sector.
