Starwood SSM1 Canada Incorporated, an affiliate of Starwood Energy Group Global, has completed agreements to finance and construct a 20-MW solar photovoltaic project in the city of City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The project comprises 2 × 10 MW solar photovoltaic electricity generating installations. This project is being constructed under the Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program, which is developed and supervised by the Ontario Power Authority. This facility will be one among the largest solar power projects in North America when completed.
Day4 Energy has entered into a solar module supply contract with Ontario's Hybridyne Power Systems Canada. The contract represents supply of a total of 5.1 MW or 23,000 solar modules. Atlantic Wind and Solar Inc, a leading utility-scale renewable energy park developer, owns 47.5 percent stake in Hybridyne Power Systems Canada. Day4 Energy is leading provider of cost-effective high-performance solar solutions. Atlantic Wind and Solar had recently announced a new solar project, Newcastle Solar Energy Park, with a capacity of 2.0 MW. The balance of 3.1 MW will be utilized by the company for rooftop arrays in the Toronto area.
