Hanwha SolarOne to Supply 155 MW of PV Modules to South African Projects

Hanwha SolarOne, one of the top ten PV manufacturers in the world, today announced a 155 MW solar module supply agreement with Cobra, Gransolar and Kensani. In the company’s and South Africa’s largest solar deal to date, Hanwha SolarOne will distribute its high-performance modules to the country’s Letsatsi and Lesedi Projects, which were selected by the South Africa Department of Energy (DOE) in the first round of bids under the South Africa Renewable Energy Program.

Faith Lutheran School Installs 1.11-MW Solar Array Featuring SolarWorld Panels

Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School, the largest private school in Nevada, is now home to the state’s largest school-based solar array. The 1.11-megawatt system, unveiled at the school’s 39-acre Las Vegas campus this fall, features more than 4,000 solar panels from SolarWorld, the largest U.S. solar manufacturer for more than 35 years.

CPUC Approves Increase in Rebates Offered Through California Solar Initiative -Thermal Program

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved an increase in rebates offered through the California Solar Initiative (CSI)-Thermal Program of up to 45 percent. The CPUC authorized the higher rebates to help boost early adoption of solar water heating technology and encourage involvement in the statewide program.
