Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company ("Greenbacker") announced today that through a wholly-owned subsidiary it acquired 9.789 Megawatts of operating solar power facilities located on 13 sites in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana and North Carolina.

Second Onshore Wind Project Successfully Completed by NJR Clean Energy

NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV), the unregulated distributed power subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, announced that the Carroll Area Wind Farm, its second onshore wind project, has achieved commercial operation. The wind farm represents an investment of approximately $42 million and is located on 1,100 acres of rural agricultural land in Carroll County, Iowa, approximately 65 miles northwest of Des Moines, Iowa.

Entergy Louisiana Completes Energy-Efficient Ninemile 6 Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Unit in Westwego

For the first time in nearly 30 years, Entergy Louisiana, LLC has added a new power plant to its fleet with the completion of the Ninemile 6 combined-cycle gas turbine unit in Westwego. The facility, which was authorized by the Louisiana Public Service Commission almost three years ago, is part of the company's long-term plan to modernize its fleet, while helping to meet Louisiana's surging energy needs.

Drag-Reducing Devices Can Help Reduce Fuel Consumption

Each year, the more than 2 million tractor-trailer trucks that cruise America's highways consume about 36 billion gallons of diesel fuel, representing more than 10 percent of the nation's entire petroleum use. That fuel consumption could be reduced by billions of gallons a year through the use of drag-reducing devices on trucks, according to studies by researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
