Ongoing Efforts to Make New Yorkers More Energy Efficient

Mayan Metzler and Yoel Piotraut, owners of MyHome LLC, have introduced two new products today as part of their ongoing efforts to make New Yorkers more energy efficient. The products, called CoolWall and SuperCote by TEX.COTE, are textured exterior paints that reduce cooling costs by up to 21.9%. The product rollout is another step in MyHome's ongoing effort to help New Yorkers green their homes with simple--and affordable--green solutions.

Cereplast Remains on Track to Open its Seymour Manufacturing Facility

Cereplast, Inc., manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, remains on track to open its Seymour, Ind. manufacturing facility in the third quarter of this year. Record rainfall in parts of the state caused the evacuation of 100 homes in Seymour this week, however Cereplast's facility remains safe from flooding.

PVC Shower Curtains are Potentially Toxic to the Health of Consumers

Results from a two-phase study released today by the Center for Health, Environment + Justice, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing environmental health harms caused by chemical threats, show that shower curtains made with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic contain many harmful chemicals including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), phthalates and organotins.
