First Wind Completes Financing and Continues Construction of Route 66 Wind Project

First Wind, an independent U.S.-based renewable energy company, today announced that it has obtained $206 million in financing for its Route 66 Wind project in Armstrong and Carson Counties, Texas. With financing closed for its first renewable energy project in Texas, First Wind will continue engineering and construction activities on the project.

Tri-State and NextEra Energy Resources Enter Agreement for New 150 MW Wind Carousel Wind Farm

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. announced that it has entered into a 25-year agreement with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC for a 150 megawatt wind power generating facility to be constructed in eastern Colorado, in the service territory of Tri-State member cooperative K. C. Electric Association (Hugo, Colo.).

Windthorst-2 Wind Power Project to Begin Commercial Operation in Fall 2014 with Siemens 2.3-MW Wind Turbines

The Windthorst-2 wind power project in Windthorst, Texas, is expected to commence commercial operation in fall 2014. With 28 Siemens 2.3-MW wind turbines, the project will provide clean power to nearly 20,000 American households. A service agreement was also signed for the project and will help ensure the reliability, availability and performance of the wind turbines.

DONG Energy has today signed an agreement to sell half of its 50 per cent share in the 630 MW offshore wind farm London Array 1 to La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (La Caisse), for a total sum of GBP 644 million (approx. DKK 5,800 million).

EDF Renewable Energy Enters 20-Year Power Purchase Agreement with Southern California Edison

EDF Renewable Energy has announced a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Southern California Edison (SCE) contracted through the California Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM) competitive procurement program. The 19.8 megawatt (MW) Patterson Pass wind energy project is located in the Alameda County portion of the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area east of San Francisco.
