Plastic Particles in Cosmetic and Cleaning Products Could Impact Marine Life

Everyday cosmetic and cleaning products contain huge quantities of plastic particles, which are released to the environment and could be harmful to marine life, according to a new study. Research at Plymouth University has shown almost 100,000 tiny ‘microbeads’ – each a fraction of a millimetre in diameter – could be released in every single application of certain products, such as facial scrubs.

Virginia Commonwealth University Converts RamSafe Buses to Operate on Liquid Propane Bi-Fuel

Virginia Commonwealth University Parking and Transportation has converted 70 percent of its RamSafe fleet to operate on liquid propane bi-fuel through a partnership with the Virginia Department of General Services; the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy; Alliance AutoGas and Virginia Clean Cities. The conversion is projected to save the division more than $20,000 in annual fuel costs.
