Ceiling Fan Uses Much Less Energy than Air Conditioning Unit

The American Fan Company will keep your house cool as it gives a wind chill factor of up to 5 degrees C. It is the environmentally-friendly option, as it only uses 5% of the power required for an air conditioning unit - the fan uses about the same electricity as a 100 watt light bulb compared to the 2,000 to 3,000 watts required for an equivalent air conditioning unit.

A new study reports that inner-city children with asthma may be particularly vulnerable to air pollution at levels below current air quality standards. The study, available online today, analyzes the short-term effects of outdoor pollution levels on asthma symptoms and lung function in children. The study was supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
