LG Chem Signs Multi-Year Battery Module Supply Agreement with AES Energy Storage

AES Energy Storage and LG Chem today announced a multi-year agreement that provides access to a gigawatt-hour (GWh) of lithium-ion battery capacity with the option to procure additional capacity for the AES Advancion® energy storage solution. Utilities, developers, and power system operators seeking to install storage to lower costs, improve reliability, and reduce emissions will benefit from the combination of AES, the leading grid-scale energy storage integrator, and LG Chem, the leading battery supplier.

Renewvia Energy Announces Completion of Sale of 26MW Solar Project in Uruguay

Renewvia Energy, an Atlanta-based solar development firm, completed the last disposition contingency for a 26-megawatt (MW) solar project in Uruguay. The project is among the country’s first solar power procurements. Renewvia solely owned the project through the special purpose entity Alto Cielo. Solarpack was the interim owner of the project before SunEdison, the world’s largest renewable energy developer, took possession.

The international conference and exhibition on “Microplastic in the Environment”, organised by nova-Institute on 23–24 November 2015 in Cologne, Germany, attracted 170 participants from 20 countries. The delegates received first-hand information on the sources and impacts of microplastics in the environment and discussed possible solutions – including biodegradable plastics for specific applications. Participants from various disciplines such as marine and environmental protection, plastic and recycling industries and bioeconomy met and learned from each other in lively discussions.
