Vindby’s Turbines Utilize Autodesk Inventor Software

The Danish renewable energy solutions supplier Vindby has been named as the ‘Autodesk Inventor of the Month’ for April 2010 by Autodesk, Inc. The Danish company has utilized the Autodesk Inventor software for developing the Vindby 1A, a wind turbine that has received approval for residential use in Denmark. The Vindby 1A, which can be conveniently assembled and installed, makes it easy for homeowners to produce clean energy and also reduce environmental impact.

The regulations in Denmark for wind turbines necessitate that turbines undergo stringent tests. By collaborating with CDLIGHT, an Autodesk Authorized Reseller, Vindby used the Autodesk Inventor software in its design stages and took the required steps for preparing for wind turbine testing.

Vindby used the Autodesk Inventor software to design, visualize and simulate the performance of the company’s wind turbines in order to reduce the usage of physical prototypes and accelerate the development process. The software was also used to create an entire Digital Prototyping workflow. In addition to the Danish residential market, Vindby’s turbines are also sold in Sweden and Norway.
