Hilti Acquires Unirac

Hilti Group has acquired photovoltaic (PV) solar mounting solutions provider Unirac Inc. from private equity company Global Environment Fund (GEF). The synergies of the two companies broaden the product portfolio of both companies and also increase their existing service and market reach to customers with more unique opportunities.

This acquisition will help Hilti gain considerable market share in the North American PV mounting business, whereas Unirac will extend its reach by means of the global presence of Hilti.

Combining the solar engineering expertise, strong channel partners and established supply chain and manufacturing infrastructure of Unirac with Hilti, will assist Hilti further strengthen its place as a preferred partner and prominent player for PV mounting solutions meant for solar applications.

Even after the acquisition, Unirac will still be located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and function under its current name and led by CEO and President Doug May.
