SunPower Corp., a producer of efficient solar panels, solar cells and solar systems, has upgraded its SunPower Monitoring System to allow the partners/dealers of SunPower Corp. to monitor the performance of the high-efficiency solar power systems of their customers from a remote location.
This remote monitoring feature facilitates quick troubleshooting of issues related to system performance, thereby reducing maintenance costs while providing improved customer service. Moreover, the company is introducing the SunPower Monitoring System into the European market as well.
The SunPower Monitoring System provides system owners with three simple methods to access data about the energy produced by SunPower solar systems such as a monitoring application meant for the iPod touch and Apple iPhone mobile devices.
The SunPower Monitoring System, in addition to the iPod touch and iPhone application, provides homeowners with the ability for monitoring SunPower solar systems using an in-home, wall-mounted, wireless LCD display that offers virtually real-time cumulative energy and power production information. Customers can monitor the environmental savings and energy performance of the system on an annual, monthly and hourly basis.
The SunPower Monitoring System is likely to be made available through the partner network of SunPower Corp. this summer across Europe. The partner network of SunPower Corp. comprises around 1,000 installers trained by the company in Asia, Europe and North America.
