Vestas provides the V112-3.0 MW offshore turbine model. This wind turbine model integrates the new GridStreamer technology to adhere the grid requirements.
The V112-3.0 MW model is light in weight and reduces the foundation laying costs. The modular design used in the model provides easy access to interior parts for easy maintenance and change of parts. The automatic lubrication feature of this model allows regular lubrication to blade bearings, yaw system, generator boosts and the main bearing for efficient working and reduced level of service calls.
The main dimensions of the V112-3.0 MW wind turbine model include a blade length of 54.6 m, max chord length of 4 m. The installed height x width x length of the Nacelle is 3.9 m x 3.9 m x 14 m and the maximum sectional length x diameter of the tower is 32.5 m x 4.2 m. The height x diameter of the hub is 3.9 m x 3.2 m and the maximum weight of the turbine is 70 metric tonnes. This pitch regulated variable speed turbine has a rated power of 3000 kW, a cut-in wind speed of 3 m/s, a rated wind speed of 12 m/s, a maximum altitude of 1,500 m. The normal operational temperature range of this wind turbine is -20 to 40°C. The rotor installed in this wind turbine measures 112 m and provides a swept area of 9,852 m². The tubular steel tower used in this model provides optional hub heights such as 84, 94 and 119 m.
The V112-3.0 MW incorporates a patented CoolerTop technology to cool down the coolant utilized in the wind turbine system by directing the wind to the installed radiator, thus reducing the energy consumption of the turbine and its noise level. The installed advanced power electronics conversion in the model permits temporary increase in power output during favorable wind conditions to increase the power production.
