One of the leading exhibitions in the U.S. for professionals to develop business opportunities and share information in the U.S. solar industry Intersolar North America has started to offer a solar technology honor named Intersolar AWARD.
At the "Hall of Fame" display during an exhibition in San Francisco, the Intersolar AWARD winners are likely to be presented. ‘Solar for All’ design contest and ‘City and County Awards’ of NorCal Solar awards ceremonies will also be included at Intersolar North America.
The annual Intersolar AWARD recognizes innovations by institutions and companies within the worldwide solar industry. The recipients of the Intersolar AWARD are selected by judges for innovative services and products in the categories of Solar Thermal Technology, PV Production Technology, new for 2010 and Photovoltaics. With the assistance of the PV Group, the category of PV Production Technology was introduced for addressing the essential division within photovoltaics.
The ‘Solar for All’ global initiative will also be hosted at Intersolar North America. This initiative will conduct a design contest for finding out innovate solutions for offering cost-effective solar photovoltaic systems to off-grid, low-income households. The aim of this initiative is to give an opportunity to 1.6 billion people across the world to gain access to affordable solar energy.
The competition is open to participants throughout the PV supply chain such as social entrepreneurs, PV system integrators and manufacturers. Applications will highlight enhancements to the scalability, replicability and modularity of PV systems.
The Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation will present an investment award of $250,000 to the ‘Solar for All’ design competition winner. Contest participants might be provided with an estimated solar investment fund of $100 million.
