ABS Alaskan offers the Bergey BWC Excel-S 10 kW wind turbine. This small-sized wind turbine is rugged and meant for grid-connected applications. The Excel-S 10 kW starts at a low-level wind speed of 7.5 mph and designed to withstand a maximum wind speed of 125 mph and the optional extra stiff blades can withstand speed up to 150 mph.
The grid connected BWC Excel-S 10 kW wind turbine provided by ABS Alaskan incorporates a GridTek 10 power processor. This processor produces an output of 240 VAC 60 Hz or 220 VAC 50 Hz. This advanced digital designed processor is fully automatic and displays details such as output power and turbine speed.
This wind turbine utilizes patented PowerFlex rotor system and the diameter of the rotor blade measures 23 ft and this wind turbine weighs 1200 lbs. The blades of this wind turbine become supple in torsion by means of a unique pitch-weight tied to the leading edges. During the start-up the blades are set at higher flip and gradually flatten out to pick up better aerodynamics at higher speeds. To prevent damages to the rotor blades during high velocity winds this wind turbine incorporates a unique autofurl feature. For protection against corrosion this wind turbine is painted utilizing polyurethane aircraft quality paint.
The Bergey BWC Excel-S wind turbine has only four moving parts and does not require regular maintenance. This wind turbine is designed to produce a maximum of 1370 kWh in a month at 14 mph wind speed. The cut in wind speed of this wind turbine is 8 mph, rated wind speed is 31 mph, rated rotor speed is 310 rpm and furling wind speed is 36 mph.
