ONTILITY, in collaboration with Penn State University, will provide Solar Installation Training and Certification across Pennsylvania.
ONTILITY is offering its S103 Entry Level Solar Electric Training Class during June 21–25, 2010, in Uniontown and during July 19–23, 2010, in Philadelphia. This course will instruct on the learning objectives of NABCEP Entry Level Photovoltaic.
The Training Sales Director of ONTILITY John Berry commented that the Pennsylvania Sunshine Grant Program is a successful program that has helped generate new opportunities and customers.
This course offers basic information on solar technologies. Course content comprises photovoltaic systems and technologies, solar radiation and considerations and characteristics of different system types.
Analysis and orientation of solar power systems for commercial and residential applications are also provided in this course. The course includes use and design of grid-tie using battery back-up, electricity codes, charge controllers and inverters, electrical utility systems and point-of-utility connection.
Hands-on training activities and labs are also provided in this course. Students will gain an understanding of the equipment utilized for performing site evaluations and conducting necessary calculations and measurements. Students will be eligible to partake the NABCEP Entry Level PV Exam on completion of this course.
