Trina Solar Limited Introduces TSM-DC80 Monocrystalline Module

Trina Solar Limited has introduced a monocrystalline module named TSM-DC80 that utilizes Quad Max technology.

Trina Solar Limited is a solar photovoltaic (PV) product manufacturer that produces wafers, cells and ingots and also assembles PV modules. The company targets this module for the rooftop market. The TSM-DC80 will be showcased by Trina Solar Limited in Munich, Germany at Intersolar Europe in June 2010. The company plans to introduce this product in North America and Europe during Q1 of 2011.

Utilizing state-of-the-art, proprietary passivation and metallization techniques as well as innovative production processes, Trina Solar Limited developed the Quad Max technology. Under test laboratory production, Quad Max cells have yielded conversion efficiencies of around 18.8%.

In comparison with traditional monocrystalline modules, the TSM-DC80 featuring square-shaped, high-efficiency monocrystalline cells utilizing the Quad Max technology is likely to increase module energy output by around 8%. This 72-cell module is likely to have an energy output of more than 200 W, making it ideal for residential rooftop PV applications.
