Molex Introduces SolarSpec Junction Box

Molex Incorporated has introduced the SolarSpec Junction Box and Cable Assemblies for installation on polycrystalline- and mono photovoltaic (PV) solar modules. These products offer the interface between the DC I/O cables and the panel’s conductor ribbons. The SolarSpec solutions find applications in the renewable and solar energy industry.

The SolarSpec Junction Box has spring terminals that connect the PV ribbon conductors directly to the base. Optional Solder Charge Technology enables high-speed assembly and removes the requirement for soldering the ribbon manually.

SolarSpec Junction Box

The SolarSpec Junction Box assembly is provided with two detachable DC cables currently available in single-qualified (TÜV) and dual-qualified (TÜV and UL). The junction box consists of bypass diodes for protecting the PV panel, especially in times of shade or darkness, from reverse current.

The SolarSpec Junction Box is produced in ISO certified manufacturing facilities. The SolarSpec designation makes sure that the needs of solar applications are currently being met by means of solar-compliant materials, unmatched reliability and proven technology in rugged environments.
