Morningstar Corporation offers the SunKeeper junction box mounted solar controller. This solar controller delivers low-priced regulated output straight from the solar module to the used utilities thus increasing the life of the battery utilized in lower-level solar applications.
The printed circuit board utilized in the module is epoxy encapsulated and connected to the module junction with water tight connectivity thus enabling extensive outdoor use. This junction box can be directly mounted to the module junction box with weather proof wiring thus obviating the need for an extra housing for the controller.

This solar controller is designed with quality power electronics to endure high level temperature up to 70ºC at the solar module. This solar controller is totally protected against power vagaries such as short circuit, reverse polarity, reverse current, over current, transient surges and lightening. The two color LED connected to the pole mounted module and kept on the ground provides details on solar charging, normal night time operation, regulation and other system errors. The SunKeeper solar controller offered by Morningstar Corporation is rated at 6/12 A and 12 V and its maximum solar voltage is 30 V. This solar controller consumes 7 mA during charging and 2 mA during night.
The voltage accuracy of this module is estimated as ±150 mV. This module is designed to operate between 40 and 70ºC and tolerate 100% humidity. The length x breadth x depth dimensions of this module is 99 mm x 51 mm x 13 mm and weighs 0.11 kg. This module is offered with an optional remote temperature sensor. This CE compliant module is manufactured in ISO 9001 certified facility and meets the design requirements to work in hazardous locations.
