Munich Re to Cover PV Solar Modules of Astronergy

Astronergy has announced that reinsurance company Munich Re will be covering the thin-film and crystalline silicon PV modules of Astronergy.

As per this agreement, the warranty period of 25 years on the solar panels will be covered; guaranteeing a rated energy output of over 90% for the initial ten years, and over 80% rated energy output for the rest of the 15 years. Surplus efficiency losses also qualify for compensation.

Astronergy believes that this agreement will increase the confidence levels of customers on the company’s solar modules, as this market has numerous suppliers and one of the top priorities of customers when looking for a solar module is quality.

The Risk Analyst of Munich Re in-charge of renewable energy markets for the Asian region Jan Napiorkowski stated that this coverage will help Astronergy strengthen its position in the solar market.
