Xandex to Unveil Shade Mitigation Tool for Photovoltaic Modules at Intersolar Europe 2010

At the Intersolar Europe 2010 meet to be held in Munich, Germany, Xandex Inc. and its European subsidiary Xandex B.V. will unveil SunMizer, their innovative shade mitigation tool for photovoltaic modules.

The new shade mitigation tool is designed to boost the energy harvest of the solar module by retrieving the power lost when the module comes under a shade. SunMizer isolates the module under shade from its peers in a series connected string, to prevent the panel from drawing down the energy of the non-shaded modules. The tool then harvests energy from the shaded module and contributes it to the series string. As a result, power that would otherwise be lost due the shade on the module is recovered.

SunMizer complies with UL 1741 and GS/ CE safety certifications. Available in two models, 48 VDC and 80 VDC, the shade mitigation tool is suitable for use with almost all types of mono and multi-crystalline solar modules.

Solar Products Sales and Marketing Director for Xandex Inc., Tim Kubes, commented that SunMizer is a simple and reliable tool to increase the power of modules that are exposed to shade. The tool costs 10% less than other systems in the market and needs to be installed only on modules likely to come under shade. These features deliver huge benefits to customers.

SunMizer will be displayed in booth A4-181, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre to held from 9 to 11 June 2010.
