BlueChip Energy, a solar energy solutions provider for commercial, government, utility and residential applications, has commenced stage I work of the 10-MW Rinehart Solar Farm situated in Lake Mary, Florida.
This project will generate around 15,000,000 kWh of electrical energy annually, which equals the annual energy consumed by around 1,100 homes. This project will partly cover the 380,000-square-foot rooftop and neighboring area of Lake Mary facility of BlueChip Energy.
This solar farm is currently being constructed in stages, commencing with a rooftop site with 120 kW capacity, which will feature two sophisticated 60 kW Fronius inverters and 520 monocrystalline panels with 230 W capacity each. This stage is likely to come to a conclusion by July, 2010. Stage two will involve the construction of a 500 kW rooftop facility. Stage three will involve an 8-MW ground-based system and a 1.4-MW rooftop system.
BlueChip Energy will provide renewable solar energy to Progress Energy Florida from its Rinehart Solar Farm through a power purchase agreement (PPA). This solar energy project is likely to create 100 jobs in the local region.
