PulteGroup Expands Solar Power Offering to New Communities

Home building company PulteGroup is expanding its solar power offering in its novel home communities owing to consumer demand and interest.

PulteGroup has launched solar initially in Del Webb, Centex and Pulte Homes communities located in the Southwest. Currently, the company is pursuing opportunities to enhance the total number of communities providing solar electric technology.

The company has ten actively-selling communities that provide solar as an option or as standard, with the greater part of solar based in Nevada, California and Arizona. This month, PulteGroup will commence its first solar community located east of the Mississippi.

In partnership with high-efficiency solar panels and cells manufacturer SunPower Corporation, PulteGroup offers roof-integrated SunPower SmartMount and SunTile solar systems.

PulteGroup can reduce costs by means of volume purchase agreements and also be integrating the solar system into a home even during the construction stage of the home.

In Las Vegas city, Pulte Homes launched solar as standard at the company’s Villa Trieste community that has smart home technology, which facilitates homeowners to keep a check on their electricity generation and home energy usage. A customized eco-concierge dashboard and solar electric panels in each home assists homeowners manage energy consumption and monitor solar energy production.
