Grand Erie Schools Lead the Way in Community Greening Efforts

Grand Erie Schools are leading the way and have set an example through their community greening efforts for commemorating the World Environment Day. The Pauline Johnson & Vocational School Board, the governing body of Grand Erie Schools, has have launched its solar energy program in Canada.

Grand Erie is totally committed to adopt green practices and has been consistently promoting conservation practices as well, falling in line with its  community greening efforts. The students as well as the staff have already been helping in reducing energy wastage and water wastage. Grand Erie is one of the first schools to fit its rooftops with solar photovoltaic installations.

In partnership with Ameresco Canada, Grand Erie, is fully prepared to reduce its carbon footprints through the Feed-in Tariff Program of the Ontario Power Authority. It is anticipated that a selection of 23 schools will just about provide the required amount of solar energy to power about 385 homes annually while simultaneously generating revenue for the Board.
