GT Solar International, Inc., a crystalline ingot growth system, polysilicon production technology and other related PV manufacturing services provider, has inked agreements with an Asian polysilicon producer for novel CVD equipment and other related polysilicon production solutions. The contracts are valued at over $70 million.
The chief executive officer and president of GT Solar International Tom Gutierrez stated that the market for polysilicon is likely to be dominated by low-cost, large companies. As the prices of polysilicon continue to reduce, the company’s polysilicon process expertise, production services and reactors play a crucial role in assisting customers obtain the cost and scale they require for remaining competitive.
