Concentrix Solar: Now an Associated Partner with Desertec Industrial Initiative

Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems supplier and a Soitec Group’s division Concentrix Solar has joined as an Associated Partner with the Desertec Industrial Initiative (Dii). Through this development, Concentrix Solar paves the way to CPV projects in the utility scale in the region of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Introduced in July 2009, the Dii serves as a structure for investments to provide solar- and wind-powered energy to the European and MENA region.

CPV systems achieve low levelized cost of energy (LCOE) by producing energy with high output and efficiency. CPV systems require minimal water and space requirements, making them ideal for projects such as Dii.

Concentrix Solar produces high-efficiency, robust CPV systems and provides completely-integrated system kits as well as turnkey CPV services and solutions for power plants in utility scale. CEA-Leti R&D and Fraunhofer ISE labs support the advances of the company in multi-junction solar cells. Currently, the CPV systems are manufactured in a fully-automated plant in Freiburg, Germany.
