Intertek Increases Solar (PV) Testing Capacity in Lake Forest

Intertek, a provider of inspection, testing and certification services, has doubled the capacity of its photovoltaic (PV) testing laboratory in Lake Forest, California.

This expansion was done by the company to meet the increasing demand for PV products. This sophisticated laboratory features rain & hail testers, environmental chambers, mechanical and impact loading apparatus and solar simulators among others.

The Lake Forest lab of Intertek commenced in October 2008 with PV testing, and since then has expanded to include performance testing, energy efficiency testing for FSEC and CEC and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). Intertek offers customers in Europe and North America with the ETL Mark for complying with safety standards.

Intertek also offers PV certification and testing by means of its laboratory in Shanghai, China and also by means of its partners in Italy and Germany. Intertek is an NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) recognized by OSHA in the U.S. as well as a Standards Council of Canada (SCC)-recognized Certification Organization (CO) and Testing Organization (TO).
