Two Wind Turbines Installed in Cascade Village

Wind system installer Kettle View Renewable Energy LLC has installed two 100 kW wind turbines for the Cascade village located in Wisconsin. The wind energy generated by the wind turbines will be used to power the municipal wastewater treatment plant of Cascade.

According to RENEW Wisconsin, Cascade has embraced wind power to avoid the utility expenditures that are normally associated with operating wastewater treatment plants. Cascade stands to gain by saving around $30,000 in the first year of operating the turbines. Over the turbine’s life period of 30 years, Cascade can realize savings of over $1 million. Moreover, additional revenue will be generated by the village through the sale of the wind turbines’ surplus energy to We Energies.

RENEW Wisconsin’s Michael Vickerman has opined that these two turbines have catapulted Cascade towards energy independence. He also added that this wind energy investment will definitely help the Wisconsin community in controlling its energy budget and saving money for its current as well as future residents.
