S+C Electric Company Receives Green Industry Business Development Program Grant

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has provided a Green Industry Business Development Program Grant to S&C Electric Company for the latter’s testing facility situated in the Rogers Park area.

S&C Electric Company integrates renewable energy resources into the grid. This grant recognizes the company’s  Advanced Technology Center (ATC), as well as the ensuing efficiency the company has in its product development.

Located in Chicago, the ATC has received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. This was constructed in order to achieve two goals, the first one is to remove the need to ship products abroad for testing, therefore reducing expenses, decreasing testing time, and increasing the development and supply of solutions essential to integrating renewable energy into the electrical energy grid. The second goal is to illustrate the company’s commitment towards energy efficiency as well as the overall development of the electrical grid of the nation. Furthermore, the building complies with the Green Building Policy of Chicago.
