Universal Solar Technology to Supply Solar Modules for a European Firm

Universal Solar Technology Inc., a solar-grade wafers and ingot and solar PV modules developer, has entered into negotiations with a European firm for supplying monocrystaline solar modules of 20 MW capacity by the close of 2010. This contract is likely to be valued at multiple million dollars.

Since the beginning of this year, the company has recruited more than 90 employees at its novel plants at the Nanyang City in Henan Province. The company has inked agreements for supplying raw materials such as silicon. Moreover, in early 2010 Universal Solar Technology began developing products for initial sales.

The CEO and Board Chairman of Universal Solar Technology Wensheng Chen said that the company is pleased about the progress made at its new manufacturing facilities. He added that the company expects to become a top supplier in the segment of 20 MW solar wafers, 30 MW solar PV modules and 50 MW silicon ingots.
