ACCIONA Inaugurates Wind Turbine Factory in Spain

ACCIONA has inaugurated its wind turbine blade production facility in Lumbier, Spain. This new facility will enhance ACCIONA’s position in terms of the wind energy value chain by incorporating the manufacture of a crucial component of wind turbines. The plant’s initial strength of 64 employees in May this year will gradually increase to 148 by this September. 

Miguel Sanz, Navarre Regional Government President inaugurated ACCIONA’s facility for wind turbine blade manufacture. The plant, representing a €25-million investment, will manufacture 34 meter as well as 37.5 meter blades for use in the AW-1500 wind turbine that makes use of ACCIONA Windpower technology. The plant is anticipated to reach its optimum production output by September this year, with a turnout of 450 blades per year
