JA Solar Enters Long-Term Agreement with MEMC Electronic Materials Inc.

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of solar power products, has announced the signing of an extended tenure of supply deal with MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. a company engaged in the manufacture and promotion of wafers and other products essential for solar and semiconductor manufacturers.

This concurrence will facilitate JA Solar to furnish high performance solar units to MEMC from the third quarter of the year 2010 and persist during the year 2012. Currently MEMC is involved in a wide range of solar power projects in Europe and North America through its supplementary company Sun Edison, a company engaged in developing solar power projects.

Chief Executive Officer of JA Solar, Dr. Peng Fant sketched, how the supply agreement amply asserts the ability of JA Solar in effecting strategic joint ventures with significant companies in PV industry and its potential to work with them. He added that the current joint venture with MEMC enhances the standing of JA Solar amid the producers of solar products thus permitting the company to widen their global presence, and showcase their order profile to reach out to other development projects of the company in the near future. He concluded saying how JA Solar is looking ahead to power the world with solar energy using the current pact with MEMC.

Senior Vice President of Customer Advocacy of MEMC Sean Hunkler said they have selected JA solar as their main supply partner owing to their executing performance, quality products and competitive cost of the products offered, and wants to balance the strengths of both the companies in the pertinent areas of solar supply chain and to partner with JA Solar for mutual benefit.
