MEEA to Assist Communities with the Execution of Energy Efficiency Programs

The U.S. Department of Energy has selected Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) to help communities that conduct energy efficiency programs that are financed by means of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. By co-working with the grantees, MEEA will help them with the execution of their programs.

MEEA is part of the provider network of the Recovery Act Technical Assistance of the Department of Energy. MEEA will work with Midwest communities that have obtained Retrofit Ramp-Up Initiative, State Energy Program (SEP) and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) grants by means of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Moreover, MEEA will develop best practices and recommend programs in the energy efficient lighting area.

MEEA advances energy efficiency in the region of the Midwest for supporting environmental preservation and sustainable economic development. Over the last decade, the environmental effect of the programming of MEEA has saved 65,278,123 thm and 3,184,618,771 kWh, equivalent to removing 499,707 vehicles from the road.
