ESPEC to Develop Solar Simulator for WESTPAK

ESPEC North America, Inc. has teamed up with WESTPAK Inc. for developing a solar simulator. Currently, a solar simulator chamber that is meant for the purpose of photovoltaic module testing is being manufactured and developed by ESPEC for WESTPAK. The chamber has been designed for controlling the temperature levels of solar modules when tested for its performance through simulated sun light.

Apart from having the ability to operate at various temperatures, this test chamber features the ability to eliminate surplus heat produced by its sun simulator lamps that are powerful. In order to ensure that optimum air temperature is maintained in the chamber, ESPEC has developed the system with a 4,000 CFM air circulation and 15-hp refrigeration system, in addition to the self-cooling capability of the lamp. This new testing system will give the clients of WESTPAK the opportunity of efficiently and accurately characterizing the performance levels of their solar modules under different operational environments. At the Intersolar North America 2010 in San Fransisco, ESPEC will be displaying its products.
