LDK Solar Co. Agrees to Supply Solar Modules to ABB SpA

LDK Solar Co., a manufacturer of multicrystalline solar wafers, and allied PV solar commodities has acknowledged the authorization of a concurrence with ABB SpA an Italian set up supported by ABB group to provide solar modules to their power systems.

As per the terms of the agreement, LDK Solar needs to supply 13 MW solar power modules to ABB SpA, during the third quarter of the year 2010. Currently both the companies are negotiating for an extensive accord for the supply of solar modules in larger volumes for the rest of the years 2010 and 2011.

While providing the minutiae of the agreement, LDK Solar’s Chairman and CEO, Xiaofeng Peng expressed his joy about endorsing a commercial liaison with ABB group. He added that the sales agreement with ABB SpA will help LDK solar in its overall growth as well as in its module business segment and permit it to gain  a number of sales openings created by ABB SpA in Europe.

LDK Solar Co. is currently occupied in the manufacture of poly silicon, mono and multicrystalline PV products, ingots, modules and wafers and, in product growth, related activities in choice sectors of photovoltaic segments. The company’s production facility is headquartered at Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Xinyu city, Jiangxi province; Republic of China has its corporate office at Sunnyvale California, USA.
