SOLON Corporation, a leading crystalline silicon solar producer in the US and supplier of modular solar power plants, has announced the acquiring of a contract from Rivermoor Energy and Fischbach & Moore who acted at the behest of National Grid.
The contract requires SOLON Corporation to supply premium quality solar modules for the one megawatt solar photovoltaic project in Haverhill Mass proposed by National Grid.
The project has already commenced its construction with the involvement of solar energy developing company Rivermoor Energy and the electrical contracting company Fischbach & Moore. The project is expected to incorporate 3696 numbers of ground mounted panels provided by SOLON that spread over an area of around five acres. On completion the project is likely to generate 1016 kW of direct current per day or an average of 1300 MW power per year.
Renewable energy program manager of National Grid, Fouad Dagher, expressed his happiness about the selection of SOLON and Rivermoor Energy-Fischbach for the Haverhill solar site project developed under Green Communities Act of Massachusetts, and in the creation of more green energy jobs in the state of Massachusetts. He informed about the completion of Whitinsville Mass site and the planned commencement of work at Haverhill and three other sites to produce a total of 5 MW power.
SOLON’s regional vice president and general manager of North America, Dan Alcombright appreciated the commitment of National Grid in reducing the environmental impact by planning green solar power generation and in bringing superior solar power facilities to Massachusetts.
