US Geothermal Partners with TAS Energy for EPC Contract

US Geothermal Inc. has teamed up with TAS Energy towards an (engineering, procurement and construction) EPC contract. US Geothermal, the renewable energy company has its focus on the production, development as well as sale of electrical energy from geothermal energy, has signed up a contract with TAS energy for the construction, procurement and engineering of a novel modular binary cycle power plant with 8.6 MW capacity located at the company’s San Emidio project.

TAS energy will develop the plant by means of an EPC contractor. This project will build a novel water-cooled binary cycle power plant for generating renewable baseload electricity with an output of 8.6 MW capacity. The first phase of commercial operations of the plant is expected to begin by the last quarter of 2011. For US Geothermal, this plant will ensure that the development project in San Emidio qualifies for the Government’s unique investment tax credit cash grant of 30%.
