AECOM-SPP Team Awarded IDIQ Contract by U.S. Navy

AECOM Technology Corporation, a provider of management as well as technical support services to commercial and government clients throughout the world, has announced that the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command has given an IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract to AECOM-SPP, which is a joint venture partnership with Solar Power Partners (SPP).

This joint venture will be developing solar energy installations at Marine and Navy Corps facilities located in Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, California and Arizona. Under this contract, AECOM Technology Corporation will be providing construction, procurement and engineering services for the solar powered systems, whereas SPP will be financing as well as owning these systems.

The AECOM-SPP team is one among the five companies to win the IDIQ contract. The overall value of these five contracts stands at $100 million. This is an important assignment since the U.S. federal government considers renewable energy as a vital strategic goal towards improving environmental performance and reducing energy expenses while enhancing energy security at various levels.
