Sulfurcell GmbH a CIS thin-film solar modules manufacturer has announced the signing of 16 MW supply accords with new clients in India and China.
The agreement will enable the company to supply 10 MW of Sulfurcell’s solar panels to China for installation over new building constructions and related integrated applications. The 6MW solar panels meant for India will be used for roof top applications by a private company.
The Chinese company that purchased the Sulfurcell panels has plans to utilize them over extensive construction projects and for building integration (BIPV) assignments in mainland China. The black color modules provided by Sulfurcell is expected to blend well with the buildings that plan to include solar energy systems. The Prime Group, active in the renewable energy sector is to install the panels over the rooftop of commercial buildings and is expected to receive the panels during the year 2012.
Surinder Mehta, Prime Groups founder, said they have chosen Sulfurcell modules, for their capability to offer high yields in extremely scorching regions like India and for their standing to produce quality products. He was optimistic that the collaboration will mutually benefit both the companies.
Dr. Nikolaus Meyer, CEO and company founder of Sulfurcell, mentioned the interest generated by the Sulfurcell’s energy solutions in Asian solar Market. He added the current supply arrangements signed with China and India for 16 MW CIS modules will help the company to reach world wide markets. He was specific about the suitability of thin film solar modules for BIPV type of requirements and spoke ambitiously about the intended expansions of the company.
