Bluebird Technologies, a total IT solutions offering company, has installed a solar powered electric system at its head office.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Louis S.Sceusi, Mayor of Rockaway Township, Angela Margolit, President of Bluebird Technologies and Ed Steins, CEO of Solar Center along with the staff members of both Bluebird and Solar Center. The system will allow Bluebird Technologies to save considerable amount of money spent on electric power and bring in environmental benefits by way of preventing CO2 emissions.
Ed Steins, The Solar Center’s CEO, said companies such as Bluebird Technologies who provide IT solutions utilize considerable amount of electric power. This system at the premises of Bluebird Technologies, allows the company to save on their power bills and also enable the company to make additional revenue by retailing the surplus power generated by utilizing SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) Program of New Jersey. He calculated that the installation of the new solar system and the credits from SREC will allow the company, an income of over $300,000 during the system’s life time of 20 plus years in addition to availing the incentives and grants amounting to $79,000 through stimulus package of the federal government. He concluded that the system will start giving a return of 20% from the sixth year onwards.
Angela Margolit, Bluebird Technology’s President, said that her company was providing information technology support to The Solar Center for a number of years. She added, the government incentives and the current thrust on the companies to switch over to more renewable energy sources of power has made her to change over to solar power.
