ACCIONA Energy to Invest in Lameque Windpark

ACCIONA Energy is all set to invest in its windpark project in Canada. The 45-MW windpark is situated in Lameque, in New Brunswick province and will become operational by early 2011. The windpark will comprise 30 wind turbines with 1.5 MW capacity each that implement the ACCIONA Windpower technology.

The company is moving ahead with its plans towards the construction of this CAN$115 (€85.2) million windpark project. Under a 25-year agreement, ACCIONA Energy will be selling the power produced from this windpark to New Brunswick Power.

The windpark site has its location on the Lameque Island (Arcadia Peninsula) in the province’s NE, in Canada’s Atlantic coast. Already, ACCIONA Energy has three previous windparks in Canada with an overall capacity of 136 MW with partners Enbridge and Suncor.
