Beichen Power Grid to Construct Wind Park in Inner Mongolia

Beichen Power Grid, a subsidiary of Galaxy Semi-Conductor, will perform construction activity during August 10 – December 31, 2010 for Hexigten Qi Langcheng Ruifeng Electric Development.

To this end, Beichen Power Grid reached an agreement valued at $3 million (CNY20 million) for constructing a wind farm project with 148.3 MW capacity in Inner Mongolia.

The major construction works comprise the excavation of wind turbine foundation, the building of transformation and transmission circuit as well as activity associated with electricity distribution. The wind farm covers an area of 51 km2 in China. The overall installed wind energy capacity in Inner Mongolia ranges between 7 – 8 GW. Around 20% of the electrical energy in this region is produced from wind energy.
