Juhl Wind Inc., a wind turbine constructing company engaged in building community wind power projects, has declared the culmination and commissioning of Woodstock Municipal wind system constructed at a cost of $1.8 million.
The Woodstock Municipal wind system incorporates a 75 MW EWT manufactured wind turbine. For the purpose of funding, the project has taken a long term loan through First Farmers bank of Pipestone, MN. The project has also requested for US stimulus grants which are expected to be sanctioned and received shortly. Juhl Wind has taken the responsibility of constructing the facility and initial start up services for starting of the project. Juhl will be further involved in the project to provide continuous managing and maintenance services for a number of years. This project has entered into an agreement with Xcel Energy for power purchase for a period of 20 years.
Dan Juhl, Juhl Wind Inc’s Chairman and CEO expressed his happiness about associating with the wind project. He added that though the construction happened to be a smaller sized one, it represents an important segment in the market, and his company wanted to make use of it. He was confident about serving more municipal administrations with wind farms exclusively designed, for community based usage. He further said that his company is planning to announce a larger project utilizing their current work with the municipality soon.
