Plutonic Power and GE Energy Financial Services Start Selling Electrical Energy to BC Hydro

GE Energy Financial Services and Plutonic Power Corporation have jointly started selling electrical energy to BC Hydro. Both Plutonic Power Corporation and GE Energy Financial Services have announced that their TMGP (Toba Montrose General Partnership) has started selling electrical energy to BC Hydro by means of an EPA (Electricity Purchase Agreement) from the power produced by the Montrose Creek and the East Toba River generation facilities.

BC Hydro has confirmed to TMGP about the project having met its guaranteed date commitment for commercial operations under the EPA. For both Plutonic Power Corporation and GE Energy Financial Services, this is their first clean power project to become operational in Canada, with assistance from their partners Sechelt First Nations, Sliammon and Klahoose.

The 35-year EPA will see all the power generated from the two facilities being sold off to BC Hydro. This project will help British Columbia in achieving electricity self-sufficiency by the year 2016 by making use of clean, domestic generation resources.
