Punj Lloyd to Construct Five Solar Power Projects for PEDA

Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), an Indian agency owned by the state, has selected and allotted five solar power projects to Punj Lloyd an Indian construction company. The power projects are planned at various locations including the Golden temple and the Punjab government assembly.

The state government owned PEDA, had floated tenders for the construction of solar projects of different values in places such as Golden Temple (18 KW), Punjab Secretariat (12 KW), Punjab Raj Bhawan (45 KW), Punjab Assembly (20 KW) and Durgiana Mandir (11KW) for a  value of Rs.187.32 lakhs. Over 10 companies participated in the bidding process and Punj Lloyd was chosen on the basis of its lowest bidding to construct the solar power projects at the mentioned locations in Punjab state.

The project awarded under the auspicious of the Special Area Demonstration Program of the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of Government of India also provides a minimum incentive of Rs.2.5 lakhs per each project for the purpose of propagating the solar projects. All the solar installations are expected to be completed in six months time.
