Solarfun Partners with Fujimi Fine to Expand in Japanese Market

Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd., a vertically integrated silicon wafers, ingots and PV cells manufacturer, has inked a PV module distribution contract with Fujimi Fine Technology Inc., a silicon wafers manufacturer and a semiconductor products distributor. As per the contract, Fujimi Fine Technology will distribute the products of Solarfun Power Holdings in Japan for a period of one year.

Solarfun Power Holdings’ Chief Executive Officer Peter Xie stated that historically Japan has been a stable and mature solar energy market. With the novel subsidies and incentives that were passed by the government of Japan in November 2009, the country is presently a growing and sizeable market. This partnership with Fujimi Fine Technology will assist the company to expand its business in Japan.

The Chief Executive Officer and President of Fujimi Fine Technology Hironori Watanabe stated that this collaboration with Solarfun Power Holdings will enable the company to offer its customers with high-efficiency, high-quality modules. The government of Japan is preparing a plan to increase the solar energy generating capacity by 10 folds by the year 2030.
