Kalahari Greentech Solar Collectors Tested for Power Efficiency

Kalahari Greentech Inc., a company engaged in formulating, building and running of solar and wind energy projects, has published a study prepared by the Georgia Institute of Technology's Engineering Experiment Station.

It has found that the solar collectors manufactured by the company provide 74% of power production efficiency amounting to nearly four times more energy efficiency than any other commercially produced solar panels available in the market.

The institute tested the solar collectors following the procedures defined by the National Bureau of Standards and provided the test results along with its observations. The report mentioned that the performed tests indicate that the collectors are capable of functioning quite well and can be easily compared with any such collectors manufactured by the competitors. The reason attributed for increased harnessing of energy is its inherent design of absorbing all the available wavelengths of the solar light during the power production process compared to other panels that convert only 15% of the solar power. During the four hours of continuous testing, the lowest efficiency was recorded as 50% a whopping 300% more power than the other solar panels. The increased power production efficiency in future will enable a reduction in the size of the solar panels used.

Encouraged by the testing process, the company is in the process of introducing Solar Tri-Brid a solar power generator that may occupy only 25% of the size of the currently used PV power systems. The stand alone generator will dependably produce electric power by utilizing the improved solar collector to provide continuous solar power without depending on grid connectivity.
