Neo Solar Power to Construct Solar Plant in Taiwan

Neo Solar Power Corporation has conducted a groundbreaking ceremony towards its novel solar plant within the Southern Taiwan Science Park as part of its efforts in becoming a global leader in the manufacture of solar cells.

This new factory will have a solar cell production capacity of 3.4 GW, which is much more than the total 2.5 GW that is produced by all the solar cell manufacturers in Taiwan.

Neo Solar Power has the capacity of producing solar cells to the tune of 620 MW while it would be increased up to 800 MW capacity by 2010 end. Soon, the company would be having the capacity for manufacturing 4.2 GW, overall. This solar plant would be completed in about three or four years, while providing about 1,000 jobs during the initial operation of the factory.

Once the factory enters the mass production stage, Neo Solar Power would increase its staff strength to 4,000. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the top government officials and industry experts along with solar cell manufacturers. The solar plant will help Taiwan in reducing its carbon footprint and conserving energy while providing green energy and a clean environment.
